Review of our Summer Camps 2009

Crystal Growing - 
We grew Epsom Salt Crystals. 
Surely this must be a record! 

Separating Mixtures - Coin Sorters were the favourite. They ranged from simple and effective to very elaborate

5 cents fall through a slot and collect in the 1st box. 50 cents run down and collect in the 2nd box

This gadget separates the coins by diameter size.
Acid Base chemistry - It wouldn't be science camp without some bread soda and citirc acid!  These are some of the volcanos we made

      

This year our featured scientist was Charles Darwin. The children all moulded and camouflaged "Dinosaur Eggs" which we then hid. The children then went hunting for eggs. The egg which was found last was deemed to be the fittest - the best camouflaged. The child who found the most eggs was deemed to be the fittest - the best hunter. Great fun was had by all!

We also designed seeds to see which could fly the furthers from the tree. Hrer are some of the designs the children came up with......
