Science Presenter  

 What the job involves
Presenting/teaching science to primary school age children at after school clubs
Presenting science workshops to primary school children
Presenting demonstration lectures to primary school children
Running science camps and workshops for 5 – 15 year olds during the school holidays
Entertaining children at science birthday parties
Preparation of class plans and general preparation work.

 The person profile
A primary degree in science, including chemistry and physics or engineering or equivalent
Honours maths at LEaving Certificate level
A teaching qualification or equivalent
Excellent presentation skills
A passion for science
Good organisation skills
Ability to work on own initiative
Full driving licence

 Hours of work – typically 25 hours per week will include some core hours – During Term time - typically 13.00 – 16.00 each day and 10 non core hours to be agreed / as required

During school holidays 9.30 – 2.30 .

4 weeks annual leave of which 2 weeks is normally taken at Christmas.

 Salary – starting salary €27814

Are you a science graduate or studying science at third level? Do you also have experience teaching or working with 7 - 12 year olds?


Camp Assistants -
Are you over 16?
Are you studying chemistry or physics for the leaving certificate?
Do you enjoy teaching ond working with children?
